2019 Color Trends Predicted

I always find it interesting what the forecasted “in” colors will be for the upcoming year.  I immediately think about the scene in The Devil Wears Prada when Miranda Priestly explains to Andrea Sachs on how the “blue” sweater she is casually wearing – is actually called cerulean blue and that it was selected by a team of color experts a few years prior – and Andrea’s sweater- although purchased at probably .  Have you seen this scene?

Anyway- Pantone Color Institute always releases their prediction on which will be the hot colors in fashion – which Miranda Priestly explained- also trickles down into other commodities, such as home goods.  Or- in my world, paint colors for walls or furniture.  When I look at the colors below- I start to think about how Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan colors pair up.

New Website Features

As husband of the talented Purple Painted Lady and sole member of the IT department, it falls on me to maintain the website. I’ll be adding some new features over the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

We’ve received a lot of requests by people searching for a certain post they saw in the past, so I’ve added a new menu item up top called “Search Posts by Category”. Underneath that menu title, there are options for each category of post. We’ll try to assign a category to each post that we make, so that you can easily find posts that interest you. The initial categories I’ve created are:

  • How To – All educational posts showing how to use the products or achieve a certain look
  • Furniture – Posts about furniture
  • For Sale – Furniture or other products for sale
  • Stores – Information about our Palmyra or Greece store, or other stores which carry our products
  • Workshops – Information about upcoming workshops
  • Projects – Projects being worked on by The Purple Painted Lady
  • Annie Sloan – Information about happenings in the Annie Sloan world
  • Miss Mustard Seed – Information about Miss Mustard Seed
  • Promotions – Sales or promotions
  • Customers – Posts about one of our customers, or else pieces painted by customers

A post can have more than one category, so it may appear in multiple places. These categories may change as we figure out the things that we like to talk about. Keep checking back, or subscribe to our RSS feed, to find out what’s happening.
